Fortnite is soon be officially available for download to the iPad and iPhone users worldwide – thanks to the EU forcing Apple to comply with their region’s digital markets act.
Now, while Fortnite still would not make its way to the iOS’s official AppStore, the users living in EU can install AltStore PAL that allows users to side-load iOS applications easily.
This store includes applications that were otherwise not allowed into the AppStore. It also consists of applications and games whose developers were not too fond of Apple’s policies for the AppStore.
All developers can upload their applications to the AltStore PAL for free, however after a million downloads, users will have to pay 0.50 euro fee as Core Technology Fee for every app download. Other than that, AltStore PAL uses will have to shell out 1.5 euro additionally annually for the CTF.
Benefits clearly outweigh the little cost involved as iPad and iPhone will finally be able to play games that have been available to less-restrictive Google PlayStore from quite sometime now.
AltStore PAL is open source and is developed by Delta game emulator developer, who is behind many successful titles. Code is available to anyone on their github.
