You are in the market for a new iPad and you’ve set your eyes on the brand new iPad Pro M4 11”. But, it is not cheap and at same time, you also see that the previous generation iPad Pro M2 is going for much cheaper. So, the question is – is it worth spending extra money and going for the newer iPad Pro M4 over the M2.
Well, the main selling point of the new iPad Pro is OLED display, lighter chassis and more power. The weight difference is nothing to write home about despite the new one being much thinner.
But, you will be putting a case over it anyway and M2 is not thick at all. Performance-wise, yes the new iPad has Apple M4 chip which in benchmarks is more powerful than the M2 but in any task, you will never find or feel the increased performance. In fact, even the older iPad Pro M1 still is an overkill for a basic operating system like iPad OS.
It all comes down to the OLED display which is amazing. So, if you want the best display, spend the extra amount and go for the iPad Pro M4.
M2’s display is no slouch either. It’s stellar.
