New rumors are brewing that the Apple iPhone 17 will boast a whopping 50W wireless charging. This is a part of adopting the latest Qi 2.2 wireless charging standard. This is an update to the existing Qi 2.1 standard with even faster wireless charging speeds.

This has been confirmed on NCC certification website that shows submission of two charger models, A3502 and A3503 with white puck and braided cables with one and two meter length.
With the right charger, you will be able to achieve 50W wireless charging speeds on the upcoming iPhone 17. The new Qi 2.2 is fully backward compatible.
This means existing Qi accessories will work just fine with the new standard and new accessories will offer better efficiency and magnetic alignment with the iPhone 17 series. Of course, as expected, there is not a word from the Cupertino giant to this new faster charging feature but it is clearly the most anticipated feature to be added to the upcoming iPhone 17. The phone will be hitting the market shelves later this year.
