Apple is going to upgrade the OLED component to LTP03 OLED in the 2027 version of iPhone. No word if it will make it to the iPad or iPad Pro though. We do know that LTP02 OLED will be making its way to the iPhone 17.

This component allows the OS to control the display pixels that might be replaced by more efficient parts. Apple Watch Series 10 already utilizes LTPO3 and this means Apple already knows how to use make the most out of it, so it is just a matter of time when it starts scaling it for the iPhone display.
Samsung and LG will be the main manufactures for the LTP03 OLED. The current generation uses low-temperature polycrystalline oxide but that is apparently not efficient enough for Apple.
Current price of the iPhone display already sky high and it is believed that the future 2027 iPhone will be even pricier. What would be the difference current generation and upcoming generation – that is something we will see later. The main advantage of LTPO 3.0 over 2.0 is the ability to go up to 240Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and animations.
