SnowBreeze 2.3 is now available for Windows which means that now you can easily jailbreak your iPad running iOS 4.3. However, keep in mind that this jailbreak is tethered in nature, meaning you will have to jailbreak everytime you conduct a soft reset, aka reboot.
What you will require –
1) iTunes (10.2.1 for Windows is required for this jailbreak). All links are at the bottom of this post.
2) Snowbreeze / Sn0wbreeze 2.3 for Windows
3) iOS 4.3 for iPad
Now, start up the snowbreeze app that you just downloaded. Click the blue button.
Select the iPad’s IPSW that contains the iOS 4.3 by clicking on the “Browse” button.
Snowbreeze app will now verify the IPSW file. Then click on the blue button and select “Expert Mode” >> “Build IPSW”. This will allow us to make a custom firmware. Wait for sometime for the custom firmware to be created.
It will then say “Done” which means that the custom firmware has been successfully created. Click on the “okay” button and then we will have to put the iPad in DFU mode.
To do that –
* Hold Power and Home buttons for 10 seconds
* Now release the Power button but continue holding the Home button for 10 more seconds
* You iPad should now be in DFU mode
You will get a pop up message which is basically tell you to flash the custom firmware via iTunes to your iPad. So open iTunes; select iPad from the left pane; hold down the shift key and click on the Restore button. Browse and select the custom IPSW (firmware) you created earlier. This will flash the firmware to your iPad.
Now, since this is a tethered jailbreak, you will require a nifty app called iBooty. Get it and run it. Hit the start button and follow the on screen instructions to make your iPad enter DFU state.
Again, to do that –
* Hold Power and Home buttons for 10 seconds
* Now release the Power button but continue holding the Home button for 10 more seconds
* You iPad should now be in DFU mode
Let the iBooty do its job and you will find that your iPad booting into jailbreak state.
