Apple has surprised the jailbreak community by releasing yet another firmware for the iPad and other iOS devices. This new firmware aims to patch the issues with something called “certificate verification”. However, the redsnow / redsn0w jailbreak still works like a charm but just like iOS 4.3.4, it is tethered in nature which means you will have to jailbreak it again after every reboot. Follow these steps very carefully to jailbreak it.
First, you will have to download three things – iPad 4.3.4 IPSW, iPad 4.3.5 ISPW and newer version of Redsnow (link at the bottom of post). You will also require the latest version of iTunes (v10.4). So check that before you proceed. Start Redsnow and browse for the iOS 4.3.4 IPSW file and click on next. It will verify the firmware. Select “install cydia” from the options and click next again.
You will be asked to put it into DFU mode. For that, turn your iPad off and plug it in to the computer before you click on the next button. Now, you will be told to enter DFU mode. To do that, hold the power button for 1 second and then while holding it, press the home button as well. Then, after few seconds, while holding the home button, release the power button. Installation should begin now. That is it. [redsnow – windows | mac]
Note – It is not compatible with iPad 2.
