Just few days back Apple released iOS 4.3.1 for the iPad and pwnagetool 4.3 for it has already been released. We posted tetherhed jailbreak guide for the 4.3.1 just few days back and it did not take a lot of time for the developer team to provide us an untethered Jailbreak. Follow these steps to do a untethered 4.3.1 jailbreak:
First, download pwnagetool 4.3 for Mac. Then download iPad iOS 4.3.1 firmware and move these files to the desktop. Start the pwnagetool and click on “Expert Mode”.
Click on “Browse for IPSW”
Click on “Build” to begin the creation of custom firmware. This will create IPSW file for your iPad.
Now, you will be told to enter DFU mode. To do that:
* Hold Power and Home buttons for 10 seconds
* Now release the Power button but continue holding the Home button for 10 more seconds
* You iPad should now be in DFU mode
Now, start iTunes. Click on iPad name on the left side of sidebar of iTunes. Hold the option button and click on the “Restore” button. Then browse the custom IPSW file you created using PwnageTool.
This will flash the untethered IPSW file to the iPad. That is it.
Note – This is for iPad 1 only. iPad 2 jailbreak is on the way, but there is no rigid release date.
