Huawei China has rolled out a new tablet running the latest Honeycomb operating system. In fact, it is running the unannounced Android 3.2 OS which is not available on any other device yet. It comes equipped with a 7 inch display utilizing IPS technology and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon dual core processor that runs at 1.2GHz clock speed.

Other specs include 2x camera (5 mega pixel rear, 1.3 mega pixel front), Wireless LAN, HSPA+, Bluetooth, HDMI, GPS and a decent 6 hour battery life. Pricing information is not yet available but since it is coming from Huawei, expect it to be like 150-200 dollars cheaper than iPad.

iPad vs MediaPad

* iPad has bigger display (9.7 inches), but has lower pixel density of 132PPI. Mediapad, while has smaller display (7 inches), has higher pixel density (217PPI). This means that the text will be crisper; images will look sharper.
* MediaPad has HDMI output. iPad has to rely on iPad HDMI connector to output the display
* MediaPad supports Flash 10.3. iPad cannot play flash out of the box, but there are several options now on how to get flash running on iPad. See our iPad flash plugin article for more information
* Mediapad has better camera and can shoot 1080p videos too.

Other cheap iPad 2 alternative is ZTE Light Plus (see ipad vs zte light plus comparison) but my favorite is Acer A500 that comes with full USB port (see ipad vs acer a500).
